Thanks for visiting the online home of Boy Scout Troop 416! The headings below contain basic information about Scouting and our troop. To learn more, join us for a troop meeting or activity.
Who can join Boy Scouts?
If you're in sixth grade or 11 years old, you're welcome to join! You do not have to be a Cub Scout first in order to join Boy Scouts.
Here are the official eligibility requirements: Scouting is available to boys (or girls for female troops) who have earned the Arrow of Light Award and are at least 10 years old or have completed the fifth grade and are at least 10, or who are 11, but not yet 18 years old. The program achieves Scouting America's objectives of developing character, citizenship, and personal fitness.

Service
Throughout the year, we participate in various programs to benefit our community and charter organization. For example, each fall, we participate in a "church grounds cleanup" project. In the spring, we collect food donations for the "Scouting for Food" program. It is common for us to have several Eagle candidates leading our boys on various projects throughout the year.
Order of the Arrow
Several members of our troop, as well as adult leaders, are members of Scouting’s national honor society, the Order of the Arrow. Troop members participate in several Wagion Lodge activities every year.
